The animated family franchise returns for a fourth adventure, this time directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier. Scrat, the perennially nut-seeking rodent, inadvertently sets off massive worldwide changes during one of his manic foraging quests. One consequence of this is the separation of Manny (voiced by Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo), Diego (Denis Leary) and Granny (Wanda Sykes) from their loved ones. Set adrift on the ice floes, it’s not long before the quartet must brave the unwelcome attentions of prehistoric pirates, in the shape of an ape called Captain Gutt (Peter Dinklage) and his barbarous crew. Meanwhile, Manny’s wife Ellie (Queen Latifah) and the rest of the family must contend with the geological dangers caused by the Earth splitting into continents.
