Fantasy adventure starring Dwayne „The Rock” Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan in Jake Kasdan’s sequel to the 1995 classic. In 1996, Jumanji is transformed into a video game and teenager Alex is sucked inside and never seen again. Twenty years later, four teenagers with little in common are tasked with clearing their high school basement for detention, where they discover and decide to play the long lost video game. Spencer (Alex Wolff) is caught writing an essay for school athlete Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain), self-obsessed Bethany (Madison Iseman) takes a call during a test, and Martha (Morgan Turner) refuses to take part in gym class. Fridge and Spencer discover the video game console and encourage the girls to choose characters with them. As the game starts the foursome are sucked into the dangerous world of Jumanji, and now inhabit their chosen avatars. Their characters all have expertise to bring to the game. Spencer is burly archaeologist Dr Smolder Bravestone (Johnson), Fridge becomes short zoologist Moose Finbar (Hart), Martha is martial artist Ruby Roundhouse (Gillan) and Bethany is „curvy genius” Shelly Oberon, who turns out to be a man (Black). The group must work together to return a gem to the statue it came from before they lose all their lives. Will the body swapped teenagers complete the quest and return to the real world? And who is the mysterious fifth avatar? Edited for language and violence. First play on Film4.
