Gerard Butler reprises his role as all-action US Secret Service agent Mike Banning in the second instalment of the Has Fallen franchise, also starring Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman. When the British Prime Minister suddenly drops dead, the leaders of the free world head to London to attend the funeral. US President Benjamin Asher (Eckhart) is among the mourners, along with head of his security detail Banning. Naturally, disaster isn’t far away. As the President is arriving at St Paul’s Cathedral for funeral proceedings, a group of terrorists disguised as everything from police officers to Queen’s Guardsmen cause chaos across the capital, killing five world leaders and destroying the presidential helicopter. With no quick escape, Banning takes Asher to a London Underground station for shelter as the city loses power. And then the race is on to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
