You’ve heard of Romeo and Juliet, right? Yeah, course you have. You did English at school. But do you remember Romeo’s ex Rosaline – Juliet’s cousin? Not so much? Well, luckily Karen Maine has directed a romcom about her, starring Kaitlyn Dever and Isabela Merced. And it’s just full of drama! At the start of Shakespeare’s play, Romeo (Kyle Allen) is vibing all over Rosaline (Dever), giving her the big love forever speeches. Then he meets Juliet (Merced) and the rest is history… well, tragedy. But it’s not the whole story because it turns out that Rosaline was listening to Romeo spin the same lines to Juliet from behind a bush. Rosaline is apoplectic as she recounts the betrayal to Nurse Janet (Minnie Driver). And she swears to tear the star-crossed lovers asunder. (Although to be fair, if she just waits for a bit they’ll do for themselves.) Based on the book When You Were Mine by Rebecca Serle. Network Premiere.
