Once upon a time, in a Nazi-occupied France during the World War II, there was an American Lieutenant called Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) who recruited his soldiers, the ¿Basterds,¿ with the following mission: to torture, intimidate and terrorize Germans. Their modus operandi consisted of using the same cruelty of the Nazis, disemboweling their bodies, destroying their skulls and tattooing a swastika on their forehead. But it was important that one of them would remain alive to tell their comrades about the torture they could be subject to. On the other side, Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (outstanding Academy-awarded performance by Christoph Waltz) wasn¿t scared by the warnings and continued chasing Jews, being capable of machine-gunning an entire family in a small French village. In this eight-time Oscar nominated film, cold violence and vengeance are a dish served, as is usually the case, by Quentin Tarantino (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill).
