Steven Spielberg’s animated adventure, based on three books in HergĂ©’s saga, with a voice cast featuring Jamie Bell and Daniel Craig. When the intrepid young Belgian reporter Tintin (Bell) buys a beautiful model of a 17th-century ship called the Unicorn at a street market, he’s immediately besieged with offers for it, one from the suave model collector Ivan Ivanovich Sakharine (Craig). But Tintin refuses to sell. However, once he gets it home, the model is accidentally broken by his dog Snowy and a tube concealed within rolls unseen under a dresser. In a library, Tintin learns that the real, treasure-laden Unicorn was lost during a pirate attack centuries before. While he’s away, his model is stolen, but he and Snowy recover the tube under the dresser and discover a scroll inside it. Then the real action begins: an Interpol officer is shot on Tintin’s doorstep, Tintin is kidnapped, and he and Snowy become part of an international treasure hunt. With the voices of Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Toby Jones. First play on Film4.
