Animated comedy. The fifth feature-length movie in the Ice Age franchise is directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T Chu, and features the voices of Dennis Leary, Ray Romano and Queen Latifah. Scrat (Chris Wedge), the energetic sabre-toothed squirrel, reactivates a spaceship buried in an underground cavern when he tries to hide his acorn in snow. The spaceship drags him and his acorn into space where they blunder into an enormous asteroid, sending many fragments hurtling towards Earth. Back on the planet, Manny the mammoth (Romano) and wife Ellie (Latifah) are worried about their daughter Peaches’ (Keke Palmer) future marriage, while Sid the sloth (John Leguizamo) is unhappy about his lack of romantic success. But they, Diego the sabre-toothed tiger (Leary) and the rest of the gang must put aside their problems and work together to save themselves from annihilation when the asteroid shower that Scrat caused hits the planet, with the huge asteroid yet to come. Also featuring the voice of Simon Pegg.
